A bird under water...

Designed by Constance Guisset, the "Duplex" is an imaginative adventure of the bird and fish housemates. I love the headspace of the bird blending into the middle of the fish tank. Check out he's other concepts at his site.

Nature's Gems @ Orchid Gardens

This is the Bat Flower, aka Tacca chantrieri. A dark, beauty.. its like a Angelina Jolie!

The Jade Vine, aka Strongylodon macrobotrys. The only one of its kind that we came across in the Gardens, there's something surreal about it, almost Elven. There are no editing done on all the photos here, and the images captured by 5PF Studio are very accurate in the actual colours of the subjects. Magical huh?

(Dendrobium sutiknoi x Dendrobium lasianthera) This orchid caught my attention because of its twisting petals. And like the rest of the images posted here, there wasn't any clear indication of its name. Thus I'm sharing what I'd learnt from the NPARKS team.

Apparently this could only be identified as a Epidendrum hybrid.

dilemma

i don't know why it seems so hard though it should have been done without much thought.
perhaps knowing what's gone will be gone just made it harder. anyhow, i did my part and hope things will get better.

fisheye lens

D got me a full set off gadgets (an adaptor, a lens protector, a full lens maintenance set) for my canon baby and my long-awaited fisheye lens. these will be the 1st accessories to my powershot g10. so happy. i haven't really got a grip and explore the other "advance" functions of the camera yet and am looking forward to use them with my fisheye lens. now i'm thinking of getting a camera bag from littleoddforest. it comes padded and it's colorful. looks much better than those typical black ones out there. but might be a bit small to put all my stuff.

sunday journey home ...

Happy Birthday Angie!

angie angie. we call her G. can't remember why. knew her while i was working in my 1st job.
she always had that big sister feel to me. quiet but knowledgable, humble and filial, and always a buddy. she had lost someone really dear to her more than 10 years ago. the phase after that must be hard but she quietly grew out of it. many years have passed and now she's known to us as one who lives life and is making the best out of it.

it definitely made her who she is today. happy birthday G!!

today i've decided to blog about my friends on their birthdays. just to have them on my blog on their special day. well, hopefully i can remember every birthday, if not, i might just have to do a belated one. perhaps one day down the road, when i get old and fibble, i can still rely on my 2009 blog to refresh great memories of my dearest friends. here goes....

as i was looking through the 95 pictures under my profile pictures in facebook,
i was smiling from start to finish. if facebook will be around for as i long as i will be, it'll be nice to see me growing..aging...yet still smiling and surrounded by people i love.

orchid walk

a lovely day for capturing beautiful orchids at botanic gardens. i've never seen so many species before. such a refreshing walk which ended with a home-made picnic basket. what a way to spend the saturday.....just with nature...

a hearty chat

just spoke to my ex-colleague. after my resignation in oct 08, i still feel a sense of closeness to them. and it tends to happen to every place i leave, that i manage to keep in touch with my comrades as well as those closest to me. some became very dear to me. and for some, the friendship lasted strong. it's really delightful and happy to know that such friendship do exist when you least expected to find it.
