Prepared with love -as D said, today I'm on a shopping quest.
while i had 2.5 hours to myself (10 to 12:30), i took the opportunity to do ALL the things I needed to and could do. thought 2 hours was a long time, but as I did all the walking..no..all the shopping....seeing then trying...it seems like i didn't have enough time. =)
managed to redeem my tang's points in exchange for $, bought a basic blue girly top from Mango, got a new fine eye liner brush from shu uemura (this is better than the Mac one i got!! and it's newly launched!!!), detoured to wisma to check out french connection and gg5 (got nothing), went to Loccitane to acknowledge receipt the card I received last week (the blur salesgal forgot about it when i got the card), went to meet D after his "class" and we headed for dim sum lunch.
while shopping at Mango @ Scotts (during my time alone before i met up with D) and feeling the hot, humid, stuffy heat, i decided to do justice to living in this tropical island and get myself a cooling tube top. I don't usually wear tubes, cos I don't like how the elastic band rest on my chest. If you are not toned, it doesn't look good actually. but today at Mango, i chanced upon a range of tube tops that fits me perfect and with material great for our steaming weather. unfortunately, there were no new piece left for my size. I HAD TO get it!!! and I DID'T CARE what color or design it was!! I HAD to get my hands on ONE!!
my quest had began from before i met D where i first saw it at Mango @ scotts then wisma, taka and centerpoint till after we met, where we continued to look for it at marina square then after so much walking and 6 Mango outlets ...FINALLY. i finally found the tube top at suntec!!! man oh man.
this is it. the tube top and i'm tired. but happy. really happy.
(the smock elastic band on the top did magic for me!)

what a spread for lunch and somehow it tasted better than usual especially when we got a $40 voucher from the sunmoon's MD for complaining about the poor service during our previous meal there. now, this does bring our smiles back and we noticed the service had indeed improved.
sushi and tempura set : i had this one and since i was allergic to prawns, D had all the prawn tempura.
sashimi and beef with egg set : D had this one.
well, nothing like what we had in osaka and kyoto, but we have to make good for now. haiz....
so nice to take a walk, breathe in the fresh air, feel the morning sun and take some leisure shots under the wings of nature...
we still had the cravings for thai spicy food. so tonight, we had :-
thai basil clams - this was quite a simple dish to prepare. Ingredients are garlic, star anise, basil, lime leave, fish sauce (we got a small bottle from bkk, but you can also get it from supermarkets here), dark sauce, sugar and chilli padi. prepare the sauce first with all the ingredient leaving some chilli and basil to add in later. then when the sauce thickens, add in the clams. stir it and cover the pan/wok to let the clams cook. when you see them open up, add in the remaining chilli and basil. there you have your thai basil clams. the sauce is great to go with rice!!
for the portion of chilli sauce here, you'll need to blend 5 chilli padis, 3 cloves of garlic, 2 tahitian limes and sugar. then add fish sauce to taste. you'll get a sour and really appetizing spicy chilli sauce. this goes really well with grill food.
this is simple - all you need is salt, black pepper and some olive oil to marinate the squid. then on a grill pan, grill the squid till brown.
we had a great dinner and the chilli was really burning our tongue!!

on thurs, i received an unexpected call from Muji to attend the fashion show at Paragon today. when we got there about 5pm, we realise GG5 was participating in this fashion show too (at least 2 of my favourite brand). well, the show wasn't fantastic, nothing compared to those we see on tv for those they have in the paris, london or newyork runway. to me, it was mediocre and amateur. but since we don't always get a chance to see fashion show, i quite enjoyed myself anyway (we were sitted in front!!). what's even better was that i happen to see my gfs there and we decided to have dinner together. oh, and i got my pair of shoes from pedder red (30% off!!)...beautiful!
at times, the unexpected and impromptu can be quite nice given the right timing and situation. and i like that fulfilling feeling you get after that.
