Girls' Day Out - PS Cafe / Greenwood Fish Market / Canele

believe it or not, but we've known each other for 14 years and that was when i first joined the banking industry. after i left the bank in 1999, we kept in touch till today. CT and i are working together in another bank in our serial ventures in foreign banks, while JL and JC remains in the same bank since. fortunately or unfortunately for me, i'll be going back to that same bank again.

perhaps a bond slowly developed over the years among 4 of us or that we have something in common (interest/views/opinion/characteristics) or simply because we speak the same language . somehow even though our group (we have 11 of us actually) is much bigger, we 4, have this special affiliation for each other.

we managed to come together for this long awaited day just to chill, chit chat, update each other on what's going on in our lives and have a good laugh. though the road to dempsey was all mud, wet and a little cold on our drenched clothes and feet (as 3 of us shared one pathetic red brolly) and didn't manage go to jones' the grocer as planned (we couldn't! with just 1 brolly..geee), CT, JL and I still had a great time yakking away while the rain was hitting against the glass panels of P.S Cafe and while we waited for JC to knock off from work. 3 hot mochas and a big double chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream made us forget that wet, cold and slow walk to dempsey.

Lucky for us, while it was still pouring, JC picked us up in a cab and we headed straight for dinner at Greenwood Fish Market. we ordered a hot platter (grilled lobster & fish, little necks, mussels, crabs, octopus) and spaggetti crabmeat vongole. perfect dinner with perfect company.

we proceeded to canele at orchard for a continuation and since JC didn't join us for tea in the afternoon, we had alot more to chat and laugh about with her participation. there we ordered 2 pieces of well-decorated cakes with each a pot of tea.

really, we had a great time. valuable time. we spoke of the past, the lessons we've learnt, life, friends, sharing and our future.

i'm already looking forward for our next Girls' Day Out. i'm thinking of jones' the grocer since we didn't manage to reach the destination this time, if not, casualpoet at nostalgic chinatown which i'm quite sure they'll like (and guess what gals, they have free wi-fi!!)

till the next time, thank you ladies for making my sat so meaningful and fulfilling. i can't wait for the next round and hopefully, that'll be a beautiful SUNNY day for us!
